Andrea's Success Story
Andrea's story starts at an early age, when her addictions were ruling her life. She struggled with her addictions for nearly twenty years, but in April 2005, she decided to change her friends, her habits, and her life.
Andrea came to Sojourner Place through a suggestion of an acquaintance at her recovery center, and she knew that it would be the right place to call home.
Andrea was a pleasure to have as a resident, Jen Claypool, program assistant at Sojourner Place describes. She realized that even the smallest detail down to doing chores correctly was an element of her recovery and new life.
Andrea has a steady job working as a waitress, and with the help of a supportive community and a strong perseverance, she recently moved into a 3-bedroom duplex. This huge step shows how far Andrea has came along.
With the assistance of her tribe, she is currently working with Child Protective Services to regain custody of her two-year old son. Moving into her own apartment and supporting herself is such an accomplishment, Andrea never thought it would be possible. She now has a place to continue her life of sobriety and a home to bring her baby back to.
